pop my cherry…

4 Oct

Cherry tomatoes are totally overrated. Supposedly perfect for salads, I have come to find that they are the last thing that I eat in mine.

First of all, they are a bitch to pick up with a fork. In addition to their smooth impenetrable surface, there is a great fear of splatter (which knowing my luck, will inevitably end up on my pants, shirt, or in my hair.)

Then there is their inability to adhere to an appropriate amount of salad dressing. This is not totally unexpected, as they were under-performers to begin with.

Also, their taste is so hit and miss. You never know if it is going to be a good one or not. In a pack of tomatoes, you are bound to get a few gross ones. I simply don’t like testing my odds when it comes to my lunch.

While amazing when home-grown, the Trader Joe’s Mixed Tomato Medley was a complete disappointment.

Cherry tomatoes are overrated.

I agree about the splatter fear – I did that (or rather, the tomato did that to me) on the 1st day back this semester – and instead of targeting me, it landed all over my guy friend next to me. Lovely!
